Congrats, Chris, on this stud of a 10-point! 🦌 He shot this guy at 52 yards with his compound bow and watched him run into a wooded ravine. He backed out and gave him some time before tracking. With very little blood and no arrow to be found, Chris stopped around 150 yards in.

We headed out late morning and started at the hit site. Tucker instantly went nose up and headed straight toward where the deer had entered the woods. He led us to him very close to where Chris had stopped.

Unfortunately, the coyotes got to him first. Based on the evidence we found, we believe he had been bedded on the hill above and the coyotes pushed him back down during the night. A tough ending to the recovery, but glad Tucker could help bring Chris some answers.

Congratulations Justin on your 8-point! 🦌 He felt he made a good shot, and the arrow looked promising too, but he couldn’t find any blood. With rain moving in, he backed out and gave us a call.

When we got there, Rip did his thing and led us right to him! His shot was good, but the arrow exited farther back than expected, catching gut material that plugged the exit hole and left little blood to follow.

Another great job by Rip! 🐾

Our morning track took us into the mountain lands, where Rip led us ¾ of a mile to a deer still alive and bedded down. Unfortunately, we jumped him, but from the way he acted when he took off, I think he has a good chance of surviving.

Not how we like to start the day, but we’re glad we could give the hunter some answers. Proud of Rip for doing his part! 🐾

Talk about a will to survive! 🦌 We tracked this guy two weeks ago, and now he’s back in action. These deer never cease to amaze us with how resilient they can be!

We share plenty of successful recoveries, but sometimes the answers come days or weeks after a track ends.

A trail camera photo of that same deer still alive gives us a different kind of closure. We tracked this guy 12 days ago and he showed up on camera this morning.

Congratulations, Lacy, on this huge doe! 🦌 She shot her this evening and knew she made a good shot, but the arrow smelled like a gut shot and the blood trail was fading. She backed out, gave her some time, and called us to be safe.

The shot was great, but the doe must have been quartering away more than she realized. Tucker made quick work of this one and led us right to her!

In all my years of tracking, I’ve never dealt with tiny ticks like we’re seeing this season! They’re so small you can barely see them. 😳

We’ve learned to keep a lint roller in the truck—it’s become part of our tracking gear! 🐾
