📢 Carroll County Needs Your Help – Takes Less Than 2 Minutes! 🚨
The Missouri Department of Economic Development is deciding which areas get designated for Opportunity Zone 2.0—a program that brings federal tax perks and private investment right to our local businesses and downtowns!
Out of 225 applications statewide, only ~131 will be selected. If we don't show local community support, our county could get passed over for another area!
We need local business owners, residents, and community leaders to drop a quick comment supporting Carroll County before Friday, July 31st.
How to do it in 60 seconds:
1️⃣ Click the survey link below.
2️⃣ Enter Tract ID: 29033960300 (Carrollton / Central Carroll County)
3️⃣ Copy & paste this comment (or write your own!):
"I strongly support Opportunity Zone 2.0 designation for Carroll County to help attract private investment for workforce housing, downtown main street revitalization, local business expansion, and value-added ag manufacturing."
That’s literally it! No long forms or complicated answers needed—just a quick show of hands so state reviewers know Carroll County is ready to grow.
Please LIKE, COMMENT, and SHARE this post so we can make as much noise as possible before the deadline! 🚜🏢🏠

Check out these pics from my site visit while attending Heartland Economic Development. I've added notes to each one, highlighting my observations and would love to brainstorm ways to bring these ideas back home to our community without looking like a total copycat.

This evening's BRE ( Business Retention, & Expansion) evaluation is the perfect chance for us to take what we learned in class and apply it to the real world. And fun fact, Vandoit got its start just up the road in Chillicothe, MO.

Right at the front, dead center - I'm not thrilled about it, but I'm not missing out either! 😂

I am honored to have been accepted into the Class of 2025 Heartland Economic Development Course and grateful for the scholarship awarded by the NW Missouri Economic Development Roundtable. The online portion and breakout Zoom sessions have been exceptional; I now look forward to in-class learning. Also, looking forward to the opportunity to network with 96 classmates from six central states (Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and South Dakota).
