History just shifted and it did so in powerful, unapologetic strides.

At the Kentucky Derby, the glass ceiling didn’t just crack, it shattered. Cherie DeVaux became the first woman trainer to win this iconic race, proving once again that barriers are meant to be broken.

This moment is bigger than a finish line. It’s about persistence in spaces that weren’t built for us, about rewriting narratives, and about showing every woman watching that she belongs wherever she chooses to stand.

Let this be a reminder there is no limit to what women can achieve when skill meets opportunity and when courage refuses to back down.

And the women who win are the ones who cheer each other on, who celebrate loudly, and who make space for others to rise with them.

Today we had the opportunity to celebrate our Carolina Women’s Collective scholarship recipient at the Carteret Community College Scholarship Donor and Recipient Luncheon, with Jillian attending on behalf of our team.

While our recipient, Kari Bliese, was unfortunately unable to attend, we are so proud to support her as she continues to further her career and pursue what’s next.

This moment is about so much more than one luncheon. It’s about what this community has built together.

To every woman who has attended an event, supported our mission, shown up, invited a friend, or believed in what we’re creating, this scholarship is because of you. You are the reason we are able to pour back into women in our community in a meaningful way.

Kari, we are cheering you on and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.

On this International Women’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate 2 years of the Carolina Women’s Collective. What started as an idea to bring women together for connection, growth, and honest conversations has turned into something far more meaningful than we ever imagined.

Over the past two years we’ve had the privilege of gathering with incredible women from across North Carolina and beyond. Women who lead, support, encourage, and lift each other up in ways that truly make this community special.

To every woman who has attended an event, shared her story, supported another woman in the room, or believed in what we’re building… thank you. You are the reason this community continues to grow.

Over the last few weeks, Booth and I have had the privilege of showing up in our community in meaningful ways. From attending the Couture by the Shore fashion show supporting local nonprofits and amazing businesses, to being present today at Carteret Community College for the announcement of their new partnership with NC State, each moment has reminded us why we created the Carolina Women’s Collective in the first place.

As co founders, as women in business and as women who serve on nonprofit boards throughout our community, we know how important it is for women to be in the rooms where decisions are made and where community impact begins. We missed having our third co founder, Silvana, with us today, but she is in Raleigh doing incredible work across the state and embodying exactly what CWC is all about.

CWC was built on the belief that when women show up, speak up and support the communities they love, amazing things happen. Leadership does not always look like holding a title. Sometimes it looks like simply being present, offering encouragement, lending your voice or showing up for something bigger than yourself.

To all the women in our community: keep stepping into the spaces that matter. Keep putting yourselves out there. Your presence has power and your involvement makes a difference. If there is ever anything the Carolina Women’s Collective can do to support you, uplift your work or help you get connected, please let us know. We are here to cheer you on and walk beside you.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is a reminder of the power that rises when women choose to create their own path. Our community is filled with women who bet on themselves, push boundaries, learn as they go, and build businesses that uplift the Crystal Coast and beyond.

To all the women who have taken that first step, that big leap, or that quiet moment of courage… we see you. We celebrate the work you’re doing. And we are honored to be a community that champions women just like you.

Yesterday’s 2nd Annual Carolina Women’s Collective Summit was everything we hoped it would be and more — a day of connection, inspiration, and empowerment surrounded by incredible women from across North Carolina.

From the moment the sun rose over the Coral Bay Club, the energy was electric. Every conversation, every laugh, and every speaker reminded us why we built this community — to create a space where women can come together to learn, grow, and support one another.

Kristy Woodson Harvey encouraged us to design a life that aligns with what truly matters most. The Beyond the Highlight Reel Panel with Ashley Creech Harrell, April Mitchell, Ann Marie Raymond, and Zelle Wiggins, moderated by Booth Parker, reminded us that success is rarely picture-perfect — it’s built through courage, grace, and grit. Annie Franceschi gave us the tools to confidently follow up and turn conversations into opportunities, and Dr Sarah Glova left us inspired to embrace innovation with creativity and courage. Each woman brought her own spark, leaving the room buzzing with laughter, ideas, and purpose.
