Love this pantry… genius design

A filled pantry is more than food on a shelf. It is peace of mind. Canning and storing food is one of the most important skills on a homestead and one of the most satisfying. We just finished what is probably the last canning of the year. Turnips. Unless a few more collards show up.

If you are wondering where to start, keep it simple.

Start with what you already eat.
Start small with one recipe and a few jars.
Use tested recipes, especially for low acid foods.
Build slowly, one season and one crop at a time.
Label everything with contents and date.
Do not chase perfection. Learning is part of it.

A pantry like this is not about showing off. It is about knowing you can feed your people.

If you were starting from zero, what would be the first thing you would put on your pantry shelf?
