A new auger bucket costs $238 before taxes and shipping. Especially when the soils are dry, it's easy to damage up to 3 buckets a month even from regular wear and tear. As the bits are sharpened, they get smaller and smaller until they can barely dig at all.

Should we keep paying nearly $800 a month for new augers?

Nooo!!

Daniel learned that we can buy auger bits for $50 a pair and taught himself how to weld them onto the old buckets. It may not be the prettiest welding work, but it keeps us digging!
