It's hard to be the dog of a CPA. It's even harder to be the office mascot from a distance.

Waiting at home for mom as another tax deadline looms. *sigh*

She says I can't come to the office anymore because I'm "not patient" and I "don't let her concentrate." Also there has been an accusation that I try to "dig under the fence." OK - that last one shouldn't be in quotes. I really do try to dig under the fence.

New legislation introduced – if passed, this impacts your taxes and much more. Where do you stand on the bill?

This bill has A LOT packed into it, not just tax, but the tax highlights are this:
* An extension of the 2017 tax cuts made during Trump’s first administration (due to sunset – i.e. go away this year)
* An increase in the standard deduction
* An increase in the child tax credit (for some)
* An increase in the itemized deduction for state and local taxes
* No tax on tips
* No tax on overtime wages
* Increased additional standard deduction for seniors
*Tax credits for home school or private school

The bill also includes a lot of other nontax items like taxing college endowments (which means less money available for scholarships), repealing environmental protections, repeal of Biden’s student loan forgiveness, border wall and immigration implications.
