Canadian federal law may allow authors of publicly funded works to receive ‘secondary publishing rights’ or the right to republish their work after first publication in an open access repository, regardless of publisher agreements.

Secondary publishing rights could facilitate immediate open access to publicly funded research and foster global innovation and discovery.

The Association of University Presses, De Gruyter is offering addtional support to SUPRR ( Supporting Ukrainian Publishing Resilience and Recovery) by translating scholarly works to Ukrainian and offering free admission to the AUPresses 2023 Virtual Meeting.

The Association of University Presses is actively working with the Supporting Ukrainian Publishing Resilience and Recovery initiative, which offers translation, tech development and training for Ukrainian academic presses.
