Preparing for a new baby comes with a million little things to figure out and not much time to get it done.

Where are all the diapers going to go? Which clothes will they actually fit into first? Where should you keep the burp cloths, extra sheets, wipes, and all the other things you suddenly have multiples of?

This is one of those seasons when having a little extra help can make such a difference. We can help sort through all the new baby gear, organize clothing by size, set up changing supplies, and create simple systems so the things you'll reach for every day are right where you need them.

Can anyone else feel their blood pressure rising just thinking about the next few months of hosting?

Suddenly you’re noticing the bar cabinet you’ve been meaning to organize, the dining room table covered in Amazon returns, and that closet door you’re afraid to open because your kids’ toys might come tumbling out and bury you like a cartoon. 😅

Getting a few of those spaces organized ahead of time means that when people actually arrive, you can spend less time searching for the w**e glasses and more time enjoying having everyone together.

Most homes have had a “just throw it in there for now” room at some point.

But look at what this bonus room gets to be now! With everything sorted and cleared out, the pool table is usable again, there’s plenty of room to move around, and the things that belong in the space can actually be enjoyed.

Instead of being a place to put things for later, this room can go back to being a place for music, games, and spending time together.

Sometimes the best part of getting organized is simply getting a room back.

Decluttering isn't finished when you decide what you don't want anymore. The next step is figuring out where all of it should go.

That can be especially tricky when you're sorting through a whole space and suddenly have clothes, books, household items and furniture that all need different next steps.

Sometimes, getting too nitty gritty with your labeling can actually make a space harder to maintain.

It might seem helpful to have a separate bin for every type of snack, cleaning product, or pantry staple, but that also means having to keep up with a much more complicated system.

We often use broader categories like "snacks," "cleaning," or "baking" because they give you some flexibility. As the items in your home change, the system can change with them without needing to reorganize or relabel the entire space.

The easier it is to know where something belongs, the more likely it is to actually make its way back there, for you and the rest of your family!

When you have a T-shirt collection this big, simply folding everything into stacks isn't always enough.

For this closet, we started by sorting the shirts into categories so similar styles could stay together. The shelves offered plenty of storage, but their width meant those stacks needed a little more structure to keep them from spreading into one another.

We added clear shelf dividers that are barely noticeable, but make a huge difference in how this closet functions. Each stack now has a defined area, making it easier to see the entire collection and grab a shirt without disrupting everything around it.

Sometimes a space already has all the storage it needs. It just takes the right setup to make that storage really useful.

Not every home has a separate closet for linens, cleaning supplies, household extras, and all the other things you need to store.

When storage is limited, one closet often has to serve several different purposes. Towels might share space with batteries, light bulbs, office supplies, and other household essentials.

And there's nothing wrong with having a multipurpose closet. Creating clear sections for each category makes it much easier to find what you need without digging through everything else in the process.

Sometimes it's not about having more storage. It's about making the storage you already have work better for your home.

When an aging parent moves in with an adult child, combining two households can come with a lot of decisions you may not have expected.

For many people in the “sandwich generation,” this transition can happen while they’re still raising kids of their own. Suddenly one home needs to work for multiple generations, each with their own belongings, routines, and needs.

The kitchen is often one of the first places you feel it. There may be multiple sets of dishes, cookware, small appliances, utensils, and pantry staples, and only one kitchen to hold it all.

Downsizing in this season doesn't mean getting rid of everything from one home to make room for the other. It's about looking at what everyone has, deciding what will actually be used, and creating space for the things that are important to everyone.

When we help families through this transition, we can work through those decisions together and then organize what's staying so the kitchen works for everyone sharing the home.

We love how functional this pantry turned out (and those cereal containers are next level!).

Now every category has a designated home, making it easy to find what you need and just as easy to put it back when you're finished. Similar items are grouped together, everything is easy to see, and the labels help everyone in the family know where things go.

It's a simple system, but it's one that will continue working long after the organizing session is over.
