This may surprise you (it shouldn't) but if you're not focused on giving them this.... You're missing a huge opportunity.

Do they understand how their role fits into the organization (Acct chart)?
Do the understand how success is determined (measurables)?
Do they understand where the company is going and how it's going to get there (V/TO)?
Do you think, I've told them before why don't they get it (7 times)?
Do they understand how their seat contributes to the big picture? (Do you think they don't care?)

Three Ways Great Leaders Show They Care About Their Team

So how do these three things integrate with EOS ?

#1- Be sure to (really) listen when folks share their “personal best” in the weekly L-10. Use that information in future discussions, let them know you’re listening (and care).

Then when you have a 5x5x5 with them, help them see #2.

And #3, what’s their one number? Everyone in the company should have one number (metric) that measures how they contribute. Do they?

Being a good leader means caring about the people you’re leading. Every leader must communicate that they care about their people. But caring is about actions, not just words.

I like this blog post for some ideas. One of which I'm trying to do during sessions is, call out healthy debate when it's occurring so people will lean into it rather than away from it.
