We are closing in on the final days to get your ticket to the Back to Business Connections Lunch that takes place on Thursday at noon. Ticket sales end on Tuesday, September 12 at noon.

I am excited about this lunch because it’s an opportunity for this community to grow together.

All are welcome: Whether you’ve been to a Back to Business Women’s Conference in the past or this is your first time joining us for an event. The beauty of hosting a lunch rather than a full-blown conference is that it enables us to welcome back women who are now working.

The crowd at this event is going to be women who support other women. And also, women who are excited to meet new people and expand their world.

I love to meet and support other moms and women in general, so I make it a priority to work networking events into my calendar, especially ones aimed at women. When I’m looking for a new job opportunity, the first thing I do is turn to the network that I’ve spent years consciously building up. It never disappoints!

So in case you’ve forgotten, it’s actually really fun to get out of the house, meet new people, and stretch yourself. I can’t wait to see you all!

Moms, have you ever felt like this?

"It seems incredible that someone with my experience in the industry should be valued so little."

This is a frustration I hear from women who are working on restarting their careers after taking a break.

I get it. This is a tough transition to make, but I’m here to tell you that it’s possible.

It’s possible to get the job that returns you to the paid workforce.

It’s possible to ace that interview and find a company that appreciates your skills and experience.

It’s possible to be earning that paycheck that will allow you some financial freedom and the satisfaction of feeling valued at work.

Here’s how I know it’s possible: Because I’ve done it and I’ve worked with many, many women who have successfully returned to the paid workforce after a career break.

Here's a way to get started:
Set goals for yourself about how many job applications you plan to complete each week, how many networking events you plan to attend in a month, and how many coffee chats or phone calls you plan to do with people who might be able to assist you in your job search.

Get a system for doing this work and track your progress. Tracking your progress will help you feel productive and give you that extra push on days when you don’t feel up to putting in the work.

Consistency is key - keep doing the hard work and it will pay off.

It is possible and you are going to do it!
