Staging Tip #2 🍂💡 Let the light in!
With shorter fall days, more showings happen in low light, and dark rooms photograph and feel smaller than they really are. Lighting is the easiest, cheapest way to make your home feel bigger, warmer, and more inviting.
Before every showing and listing photo shoot:
💡 Turn on every light in the house: overheads, lamps, under-cabinet lights, closets, even the stove light
🪟 Open all the curtains completely and tie them back if needed
⬆️ Raise the blinds all the way up, not just tilted open, so the windows look bigger and buyers see the view
🔆 Replace burned-out bulbs, and match them so every room has the same warm white (2700K–3000K)
🛋️ Add a lamp to any dark corner, because a dark corner reads as wasted space
🧽 Wipe down windows and light fixtures so the light shines through clean
A bright home feels clean, cared for, and move-in ready, and that’s exactly what buyers want to feel when they walk in.
