How do you safely and efficiently move a C-130 fuselage that doesn't have a cockpit/nosewheel? This piece of equipment, which we call a "swan", was designed and built by Newton Design to do exactly that. The first photo shows a newly manufactured swan; the other two photos show a swan in use. Sometimes you have to develop innovative solutions to help with manufacturing the end product.

Happy Birthday to us! Newton Design is celebrating our 30th anniversary this year! We have come a long way since founder, Jesse Newton, started Newton Design and Fabrication, the original company name.

Jesse started Newton Design after the simulation and training company he had worked at, for 30 years, went out of business. His original goal was to support other local simulation/training industry companies with manufacturing support, typically aircraft galleys, lavatories, and other aircraft cabin interior structures. He used all of his retirement money to build a modest shop, Building #1, adjacent to his home. He received his first purchase order in March 1996.

Newton Design now has 9 buildings totaling 103,500 square feet of facility space. We will soon break ground on our 10th building, bringing the total to 133,500 square feet. More importantly, Newton Design now has 86 employees and was recently awarded with the company's largest ever dollar value contract!

More information on that exciting award and other recent new contracts will be published in the coming months. Join us as we continue to celebrate this milestone anniversary throughout 2026!

These large components are the start of the C-5 FuT positioning system, which will allow the FuT to kneel and squat like the aircraft does for cargo loading and unloading. It's going to be fun watching the C-5 FuT come together!
