!!Caution, attached image is not a good event poster!!
It is said that "Less is more". This is true in graphic design and especially so for your business' marketing collateral.
I've noticed that AI generated posters have abandoned the "less is more" believe. AI posters seems to be operating on a theory of "More is not nearly enough more, so let's add more to the more, and finish it with the largest heaping of more that the entire town of morememoreville has ever seen, then let's make sure to add more so the more is seen by the entire world of moreearth".
These AI posters are the equivalent in graphic design as a thirty-page run on sentence is to writing. [Okay, maybe not thirty-pages, I jest. But it's bad.]
It might look good to the person prompting the AI, as they feel like they accomplished something creative. But creativity can't just be prompted.
These posters hurt trained eyes. More importantly, It doesn't strengthen the market's perception of your business. It can actually harm perception and damage future revenue.
AI is a great tool. No shame for its use. But LLMs pull inspiration from the internet. The same internet that is oversaturated with bad design and poor advice blogs. This is the same internet that has said that Mount Everest is a petrified giant, every mirror is a portal to an evil parallel universe, and the Moon is actually an alien spaceship which is at war with Texas. We accept the idea that a medical Google search returns exaggerated results, and is a bad way to replace a doctor. The same goes for design.
AI is a powerful tool. It can aid a trained designer who understands design. But also note, it is an average seeker. Your brand collateral is not a place to be average.
Don't fire the designers yet.
It takes a graphic designer decades to understand what "white space" is. Some designers never learn it. If you don't know what white space or margin is, your AI prompted design will not either.
Graphic designers are more relevant now than before AI.
