During this weekend, stop for a moment and remember those who make this weekend possible. The Marines at the grave site are from my dads funeral service in July, 2019. Today, I stopped by to clean his headstone and site.

I guess the timing of this is appropriate today. The attached photograph was found when I was going through my dads military information. The photo reads M.W. Erickson "Swede" and on the back (KIA Okinawa 1945). I believe this MARINE was a friend of my dad's when they fought on Okinawa. I need to find the family and get this photo back to them. PLEASE HELP...and share through FB. I do not know where he is from. Thanks.

OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ON FATAL ACCIDENT
FOR CREDIBLE INFORMATION LEADING TO THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE AND PERSON (S) INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT ON RESULTING IN FATALITY.
The New Jersey State Police and Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office is seeking the public's assistance with the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on August 23, 2023.
Based on the investigation, detectives determined that at approximately 10:45 p.m. a White ISUZU box truck 25 feet long was parked northbound on the shoulder of the truck lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in East Brunswick Township, Middlesex County. In the area of milepost 78.8, a collision occurred with a 2018 1/2 or newer Freightliner Cascadia Red w Red bumper. Parts circled below were damaged and left at scene. Damage included passenger headlights, right bumper and fender, right-side rear-view mirror, and blind spot mirror. The tractor trailer fled the scene.
As a result of the crash, the White ISUZU box truck sustained damage to the driver side door and mirror. The driver was struck while outside of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events prior to or following the crash is asked to contact New Jersey State Police Detective Matt Schaible at 609-860-9000 ext. 4424 Alternate Number 732-712-1143
