Deke is Labrador Retriever that you might recognize from Texas Stars who have partnered up with Canine Companions to get Deke ready to help others, just like our team here at the Cedar Park Fire Department.

6:30 Update: Fire is out but crews are still on scene and some roads still closed in the area.

We are on scene assisting Cedar Park Fire Department with a structure fire in the area of 1600 Toro Grande Blvd.
Nearby residents have been alerted and fire has been contained to two properties.

UPDATE 12:40 P.M.

The gas leak at 1701 S. Bell Blvd. has been stopped, and the incident is nearing completion.

Atmos Energy and Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) have completed the necessary work to safely address the leak. Power restoration is expected to begin shortly.

Throughout the incident, six condominium units were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported, and none of the evacuated residents requested assistance.

The City of Cedar Park thanks residents for their patience and cooperation while crews worked to safely resolve the situation.

1:06PM UPDATE: The gas leak has been stopped and Atmos crews on scene are nearing completion.

We are assisting Cedar Park Fire Department with evacuations in the area as crews work to get the leak fixed.
This may affect traffic so avoid the area and expect delays.

Trust your instincts. 🔥

Yesterday afternoon, one of our crews responded to a call for a melting electrical outlet. No visible smoke, barely any smell, nothing that screamed "emergency." But the homeowner had a gut feeling something wasn't right, and she called 911 anyway.

That decision saved her home.

Electrical fires don't always announce themselves. If something feels off, even a little, trust that instinct and give us a call. It's always better to check and find nothing than to wait and find out too late.

On May 27, 1997, multiple tornadoes touched down across Central Texas, leaving a path of destruction and forever changing many lives. Members of the Cedar Park Fire Department responded alongside neighboring agencies to protect lives, assist displaced residents, and help our community recover during one of the region’s most significant severe weather events.

Today, we remember those impacted by the storms and recognize the dedication of the first responders, dispatchers, public works crews, and community members who came together during a difficult time.

Severe weather preparedness remains as important today as it was 29 years ago. As we reflect on this historic event, we encourage everyone to have a plan, stay weather aware, and heed warnings when storms threaten our area.
