Lately I’ve had the feeling that we may never see the sun again. (Photo 1 = how I feel about that). I know we will, but it also has caused me to think about bringing my own sunshine. ☀️ If I wait for the sun to shine to bring some energy, I may be waiting a while. How I show up - positive, ready, willing, and with a smile - that’s a choice I can make.

If we wait for the best, or even better, external circumstances, we will miss a lot of happiness and opportunities along the way.

Rain or shine, bring some light into the rooms you enter. The world needs it - now and always.

Last Thursday, I was a participant and sponsor for the Cedar Rapids Kiwanis Club Trivia Night for HACAP, at which community members came together to fight hunger in our community. We enjoyed connecting with others and competing for a good cause. Some teams even enjoyed placing in the top 3. (Notice that a "team victory photo" is not posted here. If I could call for help with answers, I would.)

I'm grateful for:
- A new connection, who was my teammate for the night.
- Cedar Rapids Kiwanis Club for hosting the event and supporting children in our community.
- HACAP for serving our community well and helping children (and adults) get the food they need.
- Megan Lebeda for providing the opportunity to speak with the Kiwanis Club and sponsor a great event.

This was a short week and a good week:

✅ Worked with clients on having conversations that lead to progress, growth, and results

✅ Engaged in the community - to support a good cause and leadership development

✅ Got a new title, and it's a good one!

While this was a good week, the significance of this date in our history is not lost on me. Like many, I can recall where I was on 9/11/2001 and so much about that day. May we remember those who lost their lives, those who sacrificed for others, and the support we provided to others in the aftermath of that day.

This spring, I had the privilege of talking with a room full over women about feedback. We dove into how to deliver feedback with good intention and making feedback a conversation that allows for learning and growth. We also talked about how anyone can be a leader in feedback with some practical steps to apply on the job (or in life in general!).

I appreciate the feedback they shared with me after the session. Here's to practicing what I share with others! 🙋‍♀️

Happy thoughts for a happy Friday! It's the end of the week and almost the end of a month! As we round out this timeframe, let's talk about good things that we've experienced.

I'll go first.🙋‍♀️ This week and month, I've gotten to partner with talented and caring individuals in a variety of ways - trainings, volunteer work, and projects. It's been energizing to see ah-ha's and new chapters because of that work.

Today we remember those who paid the greatest sacrifice as they served and protected. My gratitude extends beyond Memorial Day and includes those who choose to serve now.

Hi, all! Even though I haven't posted in over a month 🫤, I am still here! And better than here, it's been a time of supporting others in their leadership and growth journeys.
