Polk County Georgia Fire Rescue Roy E. Anderson, organized nine stations which operate under the Polk County Board of Commissioners.

Polk County Fire Rescue aims to provide the highest level of service to the residents of Polk County by achieving the department’s mission, and carrying out the values that we hold dear. The Polk County Volunteer Fire Department, Cedartown, Georgia, was organized in the year of 1972, as an umbrella of the Polk County Emergency Management Agency. The stations were organized and built between the pe

riod of 1972 and 1982, and are located strategically over Polk County within small communities. Approximately 80 volunteer firefighters make up nine (9) fire stations within the unincorporated areas of Polk County and is required to maintain a minimum level of training each year.

On Thursday June 11th, 2026. Polk County Fire Rescue came together to celebrate newly promoted Captains and Lieutenants. We would like to recognize the following for their achievements. Captain Kevin Colbert, Captain Donald Hannah, Captain Wayne Dunn (not in attendance). Lieutenant John Watkins- Prior Station 5, Lieutenant Christian Evans-Youngs Farm Station 7, and Lieutenants Corey Myrick, Tristan Wright-Esom Hill Station 8.
