Another processor this season

If anyone is hunting bear this fall this is a good guideline. Read outside the picture also for instructions on cooling down the hide. Hide could have slip spots if you not take care of it properly.

🐻 Bear season is almost here! 🐻

September 1st will be here before we know it, so here's your friendly reminder: get those hides out of the heat and cooled down as quickly as possible!

If you're not bringing your bear to us right away:

❄️ Cool the hide open and flat so the heat can escape.
🧊 If you're using ice to help cool it down, keep the ice in a bag - the hide should NOT get wet. Moisture + warmth = bacteria, and that's something nobody wants.
❄️ Once it's cooled, fold it loosely before freezing. Please don't roll it tightly!

And of course, if you're able to bring it to us right away, even better! Bring it in ASAP and we'll get it frozen for you.

A little extra care in those first few hours can make a BIG difference. 🐻

Good luck, stay safe, and happy bear season!

Close to home if anyone needs it or the kids!

We heard you, we listened, and now we are offering TWO upcoming Hunter Education Classes! 🦌

Are you ready for Dove and Deer Season?

The Greenville Police Department has two opportunities for youth to attend the state required Hunter Education Certification Course before dove and deer season starts.

The First two-day class will be July 29th – July 30th and the second two-day class will be held August 4th – August 5th.

The two-day course is for youth ages 9-17. On day 1 students will arrive at the Greenville Police Department (3000 Lee St.) at 8:45 am and classroom instruction will be given in the community room on the 2nd floor. Lunch will be provided for the students and class will end at 4:00 pm. On day 2, students will arrive at the Greenville Police Department Range located at 376 Co Rd 2146, Greenville, TX 75402 at 8:00 a.m. Range Day will consist of a live fire event along with hands on skills practical's learned from the classroom portion. Students will need to dress appropriate for the weather and will need to wear long pants and closed footwear for the field portion. Water and breakfast will be provided by the Greenville Police Department. There is no seating at the range so if you want to bring a folding chair you can do so. Remember that it is hot this time of the year in Texas and drink plenty of water the night before the field day portion to help prevent de-hydration. No personal fi****ms are permitted in both classroom and on the range. The only fi****ms that will be permitted are those that are supplied by the Greenville Police Department under the direction of the Range Officer. Students must attend both days to receive credit and certification for Hunter Education. Cost of class is $15.00. Please bring exact change and we do not accept credit cards. The $15.00 covers State Certification, snacks, drinks, and lunch.
