BA 9000 is voluntary right up until it shows up on an agency RFQ. That is when it becomes urgent, usually at the moment a manufacturer realizes they cannot bid.

Holding ISO 9001 does not automatically get you BA 9000 certified. It is a separate certification, and it has to come from an accredited certification body.

We built the BA 9000 Readiness System so manufacturers can see where they actually stand before spending a dollar on it. It maps BA 9000 requirements to a Plan, Do, Check, Act structure, with a full readiness checklist and a 60-point scoring survey.

Score yourself, then send the results to [email protected] and we will walk through what the gaps mean.

Missouri's Blue Shield Grant Program period of performance opens September 1.

Each approved applicant receives $28,985.50 for equipment, training, or technology for their law enforcement agency. Body armor is allowable, with conditions. It has to be tested and compliant with NIJ ballistic or stab standards, uniquely fitted, and made in the United States. The agency also needs a written mandatory wear policy on file.

Costs incurred outside the performance window aren't allowable.

There are two Compliant Products Lists in play right now, and that's going to be true for a while.

NIJ has published the initial list of armor found compliant with 0101.07, and the 0101.06 list is still being maintained right alongside it, through at least the end of 2029. If you've seen 2027 quoted, that was the original estimate.

This isn't a cutover with a deadline. It's an overlap with years left in it, which means anyone writing a spec today is choosing across both lists, and the two don't use the same threat level naming.

Keep wearing the armor you have. That's NIJ's guidance, not ours.

Happy 236th birthday to the United States Coast Guard

Search and rescue. Maritime law enforcement. Port security. Environmental response. Every one of those missions runs on people who go when the call comes.

The missions have grown since 1790. The standard hasn't. Semper Paratus.

To everyone standing the watch today, and to those who stood it before them, thank you.

A ballistic shield can be evaluated under more than one framework. Two of them are ASTM E3347/E3347M-25 and NIJ 0108.01, and they measure different things.

ASTM E3347/E3347M-25 evaluates the shield as it's deployed: panel, viewport, frame and interface, fasteners, handles, joints, weak points. NIJ 0108.01 evaluates ballistic resistance at the material level.

Neither replaces the other. Both can produce effective shields. What differs is what the test record documents, and what a buyer should confirm before acquisition.

A label is an index. The test record is the proof.

The NIJ 0101.07 Compliant Products List is live and you can now filter for it directly on The Armor List™.

Sort CPL-listed products by standard (0101.06 or 0101.07), then open the product details and compare 0101.07-listed models side by side. With the 0101.06 CPL maintained through at least the end of 2027, both standards matter right now.

250 years. Happy Birthday, America. 🇺🇸

Two and a half centuries of grit, grace, and the belief that freedom is worth the work.

Today, we celebrate it, the backyard cookouts, the small-town parades, the flags on front porches and the fireworks lighting up the night.

Freedom isn’t free. To the men and women who protect this country and our local communities every day - the service members, the officers, the first responders, thank you. We’re grateful for you, today and every day.

Here’s to 250 years, and to everything still ahead.

Happy Independence Day, America. 🇺🇸
