We had a wonderful time partnering with Progressive Directions, Inc. in Hickman County for a hands-on cooking class with FCS Agent Emma Marrs! 🍕 Participants created their own personal pizzas while practicing fine motor skills through cutting and preparing fresh veggie toppings.

Progressive Directions does an incredible job supporting and empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and we love getting the opportunity to work with them and the adults they serve!

We had a great first Stretch Your Gut class on Friday afternoon where participants learned about how to improve their gut health, simple exercises and stretches they can do to aid digestion, and taste tested a gut-healthy yogurt parfait. A big thank you to UT Extension-Dickson County FCS Agent Allyson Harmon for co-teaching this class with Emma!

Class for Thursday May 28th has been canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Several 4-H’ers from the Western half of Tennessee gathered on Wednesday at Natchez Trace State Park to participate in the 4-H Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program contest. With 121 participating in the contest, Hickman County 4-H did very well. Congratulations to Cole Skelton for 12th High Individual and Jase Jenkins for 3rd High Individual, in the Junior High division. Hunter Hall was 8th High Individual and Colton Hall was 9th High Individual in the High School division. We are very proud of you for your hard work.
