Jef-Scot Metal Industries

Jef-Scot Metal Industries Jef-Scot is a non-ferrous foundry, founded in 1972, providing castings, machining and finishing services to customers in North America.

Jef-Scot Metal Industries has a very broad list of casting customers. Many of them have been depending upon us for more than 25 years. Some have been with us since our inception in 1972. A key to the continuation of these relationships is our ability to satisfy customers with varied volume needs in a compressed timeframe. Our CNC machining capability and stocking considerations allow customers to

improve inventory turn and reduce administration and logistics costs. We take pride in our ability to confront the most challenging jobs and developing foundry process controls that can consistently deliver the best value. We have proven this with castings weighing several ounces and those weighing several hundred pounds. We can consider orders from the prototype quantity level to production runs of several thousand pieces. Our daily objective is to improve in every aspect of our business.

From Belt Buckles to Marine Dock Hardware!

We were also around for the nation’s 200th birthday. In 1975, our family foundry had the privilege of casting this officially licensed American Revolution Bicentennial brass belt buckle to commemorate our nation's 200th birthday.

Our customer had this inscription cast on the back "Officially Recognized Commemorative of the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration" with the ARBA License No.

Now, 50 years later, these buckles remain highly collectible and serve as a reminder of the craftsmanship of American foundries. The customer discontinued operations many years ago as cast belt buckles began coming from offshore. This belt buckle represents a unique chapter in our company's early history and a lasting legacy of American manufacturing. Many of the belt buckles from this company sold for less than $10.00 back then. They can now be seen for sale on E-bay for $300 and more.

Buy American. It’s an investment.

Every workplace has that one person who keeps the wheels turning, checks on everyone, and isn't afraid to hand out a little tough love when needed. For us, that's Roy Clark, and today he is celebrating 11 years at Jef-Scot Metal! He is equal parts manager, counselor, referee, cheerleader, and occasional therapist - and we honestly don't know how he does it!

For more than a decade, Roy has mastered the art of managing people, solving problems, keeping everyone in line, and wearing the title of ‘Shop Mom’. Whether it's answering questions, putting out fires, offering advice, or making sure things run smoothly, he has always been the person we can count on.

Thank you for 11 years of leadership and dedication. We appreciate you more than you’ll ever know!

At Jef-Scot Metal, we believe strong communities are built by supporting one another. That’s why we are proud to support local small businesses that work hard every day to help our communities grow and thrive.

A recent facelift to our office was completed by local painter Tony Vargas of Midas Touch Quality Painting. This wasn’t Tony’s first project with us, and it certainly won’t be the last. His attention to detail and commitment to quality are second to none. If you’re looking to freshen up your home or business, give Tony a call or text at 641-436-7379 for a free estimate.

We also recently completed a lighting project in one of our new buildings with the help of Bob Klaus and his crew at BKE. Their team was efficient, professional, and great to work with from start to finish. It’s especially rewarding to see young men we once watched on the soccer and baseball fields now thriving as skilled professionals in our community. If you have electrical projects you’ve been putting off, reach out to Bob and his team at 641-895-4013.

Today, Matthew Seals of Matt’s Construction is tackling a concrete project that will help us better utilize one of our pattern storage buildings. Watching Matt build his own business has been so neat. It feels like just yesterday we were cheering him on in Little League baseball, and now he’s running projects with professionalism, strong communication, and work ethic far beyond his years. Like the rest of his family, Matt takes great pride in the quality of his work. Call him today at 641-895-5037 to get on their books!

Supporting local means investing in our neighbors, creating opportunities, and helping our communities remain strong for future generations. We are grateful to be part of a community that believes in working together and supporting one another.

Thank you to all the local businesses that continue to make a difference every day!

With the acquisition of Broward Casting Foundry, Jef-Scot Metal Industries has been producing castings for our Sani Kan product. Sani Kan was the first proprietary product launched by Broward Casting.

Sani Kan has been a preferred method of trash and garbage concealment for more than 60 years. Sani Kan was the brainchild of Ronald Gatto, Sr who built one for himself to solve the garbage odor and animal intrusion at his home. In 1958 Ron had a simple yet ingenious goal: to keep animals out of his trash, eliminate the odors that drew them in, and prevent high winds from blowing over his trash can. His original homemade prototype quickly won over friends and family. By 1959, Ron had developed detailed drawings for the aluminum castings that would form the core operating components of the Sani Kan underground trash storage receptacle. That same year, he rented space in the old Dania Foundry and began producing his invention in the evenings. The concept resonated so deeply with Ron's father-in-law that, in 1962, he provided the funding to establish Broward Casting Foundry, turning the vision into a business.

Now there are approximately 100,000 units being utilized in North America and the Caribbean. The mission today remains the same as it was in the beginning.

Born from the need to protect garbage and trash from wildlife and maintain clean and attractive properties. It can also resist high winds that make conventional garbage cans a dangerous projectile or at the least unable to contain the trash they are holding. Sani Kan combines practical design with rugged construction to provide a durable, maintenance free waste storage solution that protects homes, parks, marinas, golf courses, and other public spaces helping to create a clean environment and an attractive appearance.

The Sani Kan product is made in the USA near where it began in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The concrete shell is molded with an integrated aluminum casting that then serves to anchor the lid assembly. Each unit is produced with the commitment to using the best materials including high grade alloy cast aluminum, a galvanized trash container, a concrete shell, and stainless steel fasteners.

Accidents can happen and parts can become damaged or just need replacement. Each component part is available for purchase individually or as a full assembly. In most cases, they are in stock and ready for shipment.

Jef-Scot Metal Industries is proud to now be part of the Sani Kan success story.
