Meet our intern from Centralia High School, Parker Russell. She has brought so much to our team already. We are always grateful for perspective from the youth in our community, and in addition to everything else she has accomplished so far, she has given us that. We are proud to feature her here as part of our team!!

"My name is Parker Russell, and I am a senior this year. I am currently participating in an internship with Cooney Hospitality Group Inc. (managing group for Crooked Creek Winery, Crooked Creek Winery Downtown, and Centralia House Restaurant, amongst other ventures) through Centralia High School’s Community Internship program. This program offers unpaid work experience in partnership with local workspaces, providing selected seniors the opportunity to gain real world experience. The selection is based on a combination of attendance, discipline, and academic performance.

I have been interning at Cooney Hospitality Group for four weeks so far and have not only discovered so much about their businesses, but also about the business world in general. I’ve had the privilege to work alongside Shannon, Mindy, and Alex, who have provided me with guidance and insight. So far, I have completed two market analysis projects, contributed with a business plan, given input on current development and marketing projects, and even had the opportunity to visit Crooked Creek Winery to observe their wine press and production process.

After High School, I plan to attend college and pursue a degree in business marketing. I am excited to continue to gain as much hands on experience as possible before graduating. This internship has already been a significant step in that direction."

Very excited for this masterpiece we’ve had under wraps!!! Go Cody and Gere for not hesitating even for one second when you saw the vision!! This is going to be epic 🤩

👀 This is one of the cooler projects we’ve gotten to do so far…at a treasure of a historic place (iykyk). In awe of Cody and Gere and their skill and being as adventurous as us and seeing our vision and willingness to say YES to such a huge undertaking. They’re The REAL McCoys!! We were going to keep this part of the project a secret, but it’s special enough that you’ll HAVE to see the full finished project in person anyway. Soon, we’ll be imagining dining in the City of New Orleans right here in Downtown Centralia. 📍🏁♥️

We took the awning fully down today too…it seems, just in time for this crazy wind.
