We just wrapped another all-nighter to significantly beef up power backups at our towers.

Customers served from our BRENT and EOLINE towers - this one is for you!! ✅🙏🏻 These upgrades were funded entirely with local investment from local people. No tax dollars required.

🚨 BIG UPGRADES AT OUR BEAR CREEK TOWER 🚨

If you live on the Brent / Bear Creek side of Bibb County, this one is for you. We just finished a major round of upgrades on the tower that serves your area. Here is what changed:

🔋 NEW BATTERY BACKUP SYSTEM
When the power goes out at the tower, your internet stays on. We now have HOURS AND HOURS of battery runtime. Storms knock out power. They should not knock out your connection. If your router has power, you'll be online! :)

🌪️ SEVERE WEATHER CAMERA
We installed a new storm observation camera on the tower. WBRC Chief Meteorologist Wes Wyatt will use it to watch tornadoes as they move through our area. When bad weather comes, this camera helps keep Bibb County informed.

🔁 TWO-DIRECTION BACKUP CONNECTION
We built a new link to our Eoline tower. Bear Creek now gets its upstream feed from TWO different directions. If one path goes down, the other picks it up. That means fewer outages for you.

🎮 BETTER SPEED FOR GAMERS, STREAMERS, AND BUSINESSES
We hired one of the BEST 5G/LTE implementation teams in the nation to fine-tune the programming on this tower. The result is stronger, more stable performance for gaming, streaming, video calls, and running your business.

🌐 IPv6 ROLLOUT HAS BEGUN
Gamers, this one is for you. IPv6 means better matchmaking, fewer connection headaches, and a more direct path to game servers. Bear Creek is one of the first towers to get it.

💪 ZERO GRANT MONEY. ZERO TAX DOLLARS.
The big Wall Street internet companies needed millions in government grants before they would even look at Bibb County. We didn't take a dime.

Quick update - we nearly have every tower back online. This weather hit our network area VERY HARD. Thank YOU to our customers that have been patient with our customer support staff and technicians. Rest assured we have been working around the clock to get everybody back up and won't stop until that offline customer count is 0! 🙏

Also THANK YOU to the teams of our fellow utility workers at Alabama Power that have been burning the midnight oil getting power back up across the area. You are appreciated. 🙏

⚠️FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: In my latest
analysis I still see a more elevated tornado risk across south and west areas. That said, with every event that involves severe storms this time of year, an isolated tornado risk is often present. We just need to watch these areas highlighted for a significant tornado risk. Also, gusty winds, hail, and even the risk for some localized flooding; a stormy evening across the state. Just stay weather alert, have a plan, and I promise we will keep you well informed every step of the way. Look for me back here soon with a LIVE update and answering questions, so make sure you are following. Also, keep it on channel 6. We will be live at the top and bottom of every hour!

Hey folks, Josh here, CEO of Alabama Lightwave. Wanted to share something from our friends down in Florida. Streamline Internet is a small business just like us, selling blazing fast internet to residents, local governments, and commercial businesses, and running crews of local guys who take their work seriously and show up for their neighbors. They're also giving first responders and essential workers generous discounts, same as what we do across Bibb, Chilton, and Choctaw County.

Huge thanks to WISPA and WINK News for shining a light on the kind of work WISPs are doing every day. These are Main Street guys. Real people, real trucks, real ladders, building real networks in places the big carriers forgot about. It's pretty cool seeing another win for a company that looks a lot like ours, this time all the way down in Hendry County, Florida.

I'm lucky to call Lou, the CEO of Streamline, a friend. I've spent time out in the field with his team and watched their installs up close. Good folks doing good work, and it shows in the way their customers talk about them.

Congrats to Lou and the whole Streamline crew on the launch in Southwest Florida. Well deserved.

Families in Port LaBelle say they were promised internet and cable when they built their homes, but years later, they're still waiting.
