Raices y Alas was an amazing healing experience for everyone involved. Thank you to all my supportive team, my carebears, facilitators, community partners and LA COUNTY DMH, Latino UScc for funding it.

I'll keep you posted on our next adventure!πŸ˜€

I'm part of the Immigrant Care Circle, a group of therapist that came together to support our immigrant families' mental health with probono services as they navigate the impact of 🧊 raids.

It was great meeting some of my teammates in this beautiful project and connecting with the community.

We tabled and offered mental health resources to families that were displaced by the fire and continue to struggle in adjusting not just emotionally but financially.

Thank you CHIRLA for organizing this event.

I have been full of emotions today as we bring to a close the Raices y Alas Workshops Series.

Tears 😒 gave been flowing in recollection of the journey that this project has been and how myself along with my friends and colleagues have learned and grown alongside our participants. It is beautiful to see the remembrance of ancestral wellness tools as well as the application of them in theur daily life. Them sharing thrur overall well-being gas improved in the past 4 weeks fills my πŸ’› with joy.

Allow yourself to dream and imagine to create amazing things. This project was an idea that surfaced on my drive to work and i pushed myself to apply and bid with LA County to get it. So allowing myself to use my wings to propell it to fruition made it possible.

I'm grateful to The Wall, las Memorias, HYC, and Long Beach Forward for sharing thrir space and to all my friends who shared the medicine, encouragement and support πŸ’›πŸ«‚

We had so much healing through joy, dancing, and playing games in our last Raices y Alas session.

When we dance and play we tap in our inner child's joy and nurture our spirit, so get to πŸ’ƒ
