Yesterday was about the bride.

Today, meet the groom.

While Megan was getting ready upstairs in the beautiful First Presbyterian Church, Brian + his best man were relegated to the decidedly less glamorous basement.

No complaints. No fuss.

Which, as it turns out, tells you quite a bit about Brian.

He's quick with a joke, fluent in sarcasm + very comfortable being the guy who gets everyone else laughing. That personality came out plenty once we got to bridal party portraits.

But underneath all that humor is a man who absolutely beams when he looks at Megan.

And one of my favorite things to photograph at any wedding is the moment a groom sees his bride coming down the aisle.

Yes—even when they've already done a first look.

Because somehow, that walk down the aisle is different.

Brian didn't hide what he was feeling when he saw Megan coming toward him.

And I wouldn't have wanted him to.

Tomorrow: about that first look…

There are beautiful brides… and then there are brides who seem to glow from somewhere deeper.

Megan was both.

From the moment I arrived, she had this quiet, warm, completely peaceful energy about her. The timeline could shift. Downtown Fargo could be packed. The July heat could be downright disrespectful. 😅 None of it seemed capable of rattling her.

In fact, somehow the bride kept making sure her photographer had snacks + something to drink.

Before their wedding, Megan + Brian told me they wanted the day to feel "simple, stress-free + calm"—and that they hoped their photographs would capture its simplicity love.

Looking at Megan standing in the window light at First Presbyterian Church, I think this photograph says all of that without saying a word.

Radiant. Gracious. Calm.

And very, very ready to marry Brian. 🤍🩷

Some loves never really leave us. 🤍

Just hours after these photographs were taken, Molly crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

It was an incredible honor to preserve these moments for the people who loved her most.

🌈 Some dogs leave paw prints on our hearts.

Others become part of who we are.

When Liz first reached out, she described Molly as more than a family dog.

She called her her mom's soul dog.

The glue that held their family together.

I carried those words with me throughout our entire session.

I watched quiet glances.

Hands instinctively reaching for soft curls.

Gentle forehead kisses.

The kind of love that doesn't need words because it's been spoken every day for 13 years.

A few hours after these photographs were taken, Molly crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

While these sessions are never easy, they are among the greatest privileges of my career.

Because this isn't really about saying goodbye.

It's about making sure a lifetime of love has something tangible to hold onto.

To Molly's family—

Thank you for trusting me with your hearts.

It was an honor to witness your love + preserve these memories.
