Owning my stuff…are you like this, too?

This what happens when one may have OCPD (not OCD): obsessive compulsive personality disorder. Been like this all my life.

Here I was in the cold the other day digging lines in the dirt to cover up these cords.

Proud skill moment!

Slowly but certainly making progress over here. Decided to make my own Christmas foliage outdoor displays. Last year, I paid $50+ for one medium sized one. Wanted 3 larger ones this year. So, I bought $28 worth of pine, spruce fir and juniper bundles. Cut some branches from my tree and holly and berry bushes on my street. Voila! Not bad for a first time. I always make my own bows.

I made the garland on the mantle last Christmas using burlap pieces and cut pieces of a fabric that I got in Nigeria years ago. This year I extended it to hang off the sides and added lights.

B. Smith (RIP) would be proud of me, too!

Have some fabric pieces just laying around or stored away in a bin somewhere. Take it out and get creative. I brought this fabric from Lagos, Nigeria in 2004. I have some clothes pieces made with it. Kept the leftover pieces. Decided I wanted Afrocentric decor for Christmas this past year. I used the leftover fabric scraps and made this beautiful garland for my fireplace. Was the perfect way to change clutter to clarity.

There are no rules for how you arrange your space for your lifestyles. A few years ago I made a post about creating our spaces for the way we live. I continue to do this because it is always changing. My guest bedroom became my child’s playroom. I put my desk/office space in the living room because I like being where the action is and away from my hubby’s office (we work differently). Doing this has allowed me to be more productive and my daughter is more creative and self-entertained.
