COMING JUNE 27TH: NIGHT CARBINE

Not to be confused with our Low Light Carbine class. This is an entirely different course and the first of its kind with JDC.

Low Light Carbine focuses on handheld and weapon light techniques, transitions, and manipulations inside 50 yards.

Night Carbine is a dedicated nighttime rifle laboratory designed to explore the capabilities and limitations of white light, thermal optics, and night vision systems at distance. Students will engage steel targets from close range all the way out to 300 yards while learning holds, target identification, equipment performance, and practical application under the cover of darkness.

Whether you're running white light, thermal, or night vision, this class is designed to help you validate your equipment, build confidence, and push your rifle farther than most shooters ever have the opportunity to. We may even have a few surprises planned that you'll have to experience for yourself.

It is always dark somewhere.

Low light and no light environments are unforgiving. If you've invested in night vision, thermals, IR lasers, or white light capability, this is your opportunity to put that equipment to work and see what it can really do.

Join us on June 27th for JDC's first-ever Night Carbine course. This challenging and rewarding evening will run from approximately 6:00 PM until Midnight and will be taught by experienced low-light instructors.

We'll begin before sunset by confirming equipment setup, zeroes, and the ability to successfully engage targets out to 300 yards. Once darkness falls, students will work on engaging steel targets from 50 to 300 yards while learning the strengths and limitations of their equipment.

Topics include:• Night Vision• Thermal Optics• IR Lasers• White Light Employment• Equipment Setup and Validation• Target Engagement from 50-300 Yards

Instructor-owned systems will also be available for trial and evaluation.

Equipment Requirements:• Thermal and/or Night Vision capable rifle or carbine with quality weapon light (30 caliber maximum)• Minimum 3 magazines• Minimum 250 rounds of ball ammunition• No steel core or bi-metal ammunition• Extra batteries for optics, lights, and accessories• Eye and ear protection• Note-taking material• Water and snacks

Whether you're running your first night vision setup or refining a proven system, this class offers a unique opportunity to test your gear, improve your capabilities, and gain confidence in the dark.

One of the biggest benefits of attending training isn’t just learning new skills. It’s finding out what works… and what doesn’t.

Nothing gets your attention quite like showing up to class and realizing your optic isn’t tightened down, your focus isn’t set correctly, your sling is adjusted wrong, your holster isn’t secured, or that piece of gear you thought was perfect starts causing problems once the timer beeps.

The range has a way of exposing weaknesses in both shooters and equipment.

The good news? That’s exactly what training is for.

We see it all. Loose optics, dead batteries, improperly mounted accessories, magazine issues, gear placement problems, and everything in between. Our instructors are ready to help you diagnose problems, make adjustments, and get your equipment running the way it should.

Finding a problem during a training class is a whole lot better than finding it when the stakes are higher.

Train hard. Test your gear. Fix what needs fixing. Then get back to work.

A recurring theme in our classes is hearing Brett talk about "staying in your process." By this point, some of you have probably heard it so many times that you can finish the sentence for him.

There's a reason it keeps coming up.

When the timer goes off, the target gets smaller, or things start falling apart, students often abandon the very fundamentals that got them there in the first place. They rush the draw, outrun their sights, skip steps, and start chasing speed instead of executing the process.

The funny thing is that the shooters who perform the best aren't usually the ones trying the hardest to go fast. They're the ones who stay disciplined, trust their training, and focus on doing the next thing correctly.

Grip. Sights. Trigger. Follow through.

Stay in your process.

The target doesn't care how badly you want the hit. The timer doesn't care how fast you think you are. The fundamentals always collect their debt eventually.

So here we go again...

Stay in your process. It works. That's why we keep talking about it.

WHY I TRAIN | Amy's Story

One of the things we enjoy most at Justified Defensive Concepts is hearing the stories behind the people who show up to train. Every student has a different background, a different reason for starting, and a different goal they're working toward.

This week, we're featuring Amy's story:

"I first handled a firearm in junior high school but did not receive any structured training until my 40s. Defensive shooting training is important in order to safely, competently, and responsibly handle a firearm. I initially chose JDC based on professional referrals and have taken multiple classes -- pistol, rifle, shotgun, concealed carry -- with them over the past few years. I train with JDC because they create a safe and enjoyable environment to learn at your own pace; their instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional; they have small class sizes; and they provide great value (ex: dry fire exercises and solving malfunctions). My favorite class is defensive shotgun."

Thank you, Amy, for sharing your story and for trusting us with your training journey.

Everyone who trains has a reason. Maybe it's protecting your family. Maybe it's personal growth. Maybe it's developing skills and confidence. Whatever your reason, we'd love to hear it.

Share your story of why you train with JDC. Selected submissions may be featured on our page and will receive 25% off one JDC class.
