What happens when the fight starts before you can access your weapon?
Sometimes the only tool immediately available to protect yourself or someone you love is your own body.
Immediate Action Pugilism: Clinch and Striking for Self-Preservation in the Weapons-Based Environment is built around that reality.
This isn’t about turning you into a boxer or MMA fighter. It’s about developing a practical, functional set of skills for surviving a violent, close-range confrontation where weapons may be present but accessing yours isn’t immediately possible.
You’ll work through high-percentage concepts and techniques covering:
● Striking and clinch fundamentals
● Surviving and functioning at contact distance
● Creating opportunities to disengage or access other tools
● Realistic drilling under pressure
● Force-on-force evolutions that provide immediate feedback
If you carry a fi***rm for self-defense but haven’t spent meaningful time developing your empty-hand skills, there’s a gap in your training. Bad guys, inconsiderately, do not always begin the fight at seven yards with your hands conveniently on your pistol.
Train for the fight you don’t get to choose.

Vehicles and ballistic effects should not be theory. Working around these common barriers and surfaces means pe*******on and deflection should be calculable. Position and angle are critical. Two clean scrap vehicles are destroyed in Fighting Around Vehicles so you can learn this first hand. Class is Sat Sept 19th. We need four more registrations to make it happen. Class size is limited to ten. Today is the last day for registration. Who’s in?

Every trigger press is a decision.

In a defensive encounter, you’re not just betting on your marksmanship. You’re betting your future on the decisions you make before, during, and after the shot.

That’s why your shot process has to be deliberate.

See what you need to see. Confirm what needs to be confirmed. Press the trigger only when you’ve made the decision that the shot is necessary and accountable.

Speed has its place, but deliberate decision-making is what wins. Train your process until good decisions become your default, because the consequences of a bad one can last a lifetime.
