I have to tell you what my 86 year old client said to me the other day…

I really can’t stop thinking about it.

I got to her house and she said “ I’m so sorry. I really wanted to have it completely together before you came today. “

Let me just give you a little background.

She is 86 and having to get her house ready to sell, find a place to live for her and her husband and go through all the contents of her house without help from any family, including her husband.

I immediately said “ That is what I’m here for.” I’m here to help. I certainly don’t expect you to be completely together with so much on your plate right now. Who wouldn’t be overwhelmed in this situation?

My goal is to help my clients with zero judgement. And while we are working I try to add humor and laughter along the way because life is hard and serious times call for some lightness.

So if you are overwhelmed or going through a transition. I’m here to meet you wherever you may be.

We can get through it together!❤️

I’m not going to lie…Things have been really hard lately.

And I know I’m not alone.

For some reason this year has brought so many challenges to so many of my friends and longtime clients.

And I don’t mean small things.

I have had clients who experienced floods in their homes.

2 clients who had house fires, multiple people with health issues personally and with their loved ones.

And clients who have lost pets just like me.

One of the hardest parts of losing a pet is seeing all the things that feel empty now.. the beds, the hiding places, the water bowl, the toy box. Take your time and go through things on your own terms.

It really made me think about how important it is for your home to support you during these times.

The more you have household systems in place and are organized, the easier it is to deal with the really hard times.

It’s important to create a calm nurturing environment at home when you need it the most.

Lots of little things can make a difference:

❤️ Buy some fresh flowers.

❤️Play some relaxing music.

❤️ Light a candle.

❤️ Read a book and drink a cup of tea.

❤️Take a hot bath with epsom salts.

❤️Get dressed everyday in something you feel good in.

❤️ Declutter regularly so your main space isn’t a cause of stress.

❤️ Wrap up in a cozy blanket or sweater.

❤️ Display things in your home that bring you joy whether it is art, a favorite photo or a special keepsake.

❤️ Add layers of texture and soft coziness with rugs, throw pillows and blankets.

I was just talking with a lady yesterday who said she knows she is just not herself because her home feels chaotic right now.

That’s what I’m here for. Organizing is not all color coded closets and Instagram worthy photos.
Organizing is anything I can do to help make your life easier and less stressful during these challenging times.

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️

Whether you celebrate today or not…treat yourself to something.

Even the smallest little bouquet or flowers can brighten up your space.

And yes I know it’s controversial but I’m fine with faux flowers. Now not just any faux flowers. They have to look realistic.
I am very picky!

But I have been known to convince clients that are anti faux flowers to try them and they never looked back. 😂

And one little tip.. if you have really bad allergies and want real flowers… roses are my personal favorite.
They never bother my allergies even in a small space.

And I might be a little partial to hot pink. Can you tell?😂

So buy yourself the flowers.. you deserve them. ❤️
