DO WE TAN OUR OWN CAPES?

This is a question we get.. A lot!

The answer is yes we do! Every animal that we mount is done start to finish IN HOUSE! We use the best available products on the market and have full control over the quality and care of your capes!

What this means for you is, faster turnaround times due to not having to ship out our capes for tanning and better more consistent overall quality.

5 LAST MINUTE TIPS TO PROTECT YOUR CAPE & VELVET IN THIS HEAT!

1️⃣ Keep it COOL! Get your deer out of the heat and cooled down as quickly as possible.

2️⃣ DON’T lay it directly on a hot truck bed. Use a tarp, blanket, or other barrier.

3️⃣ Park in the SHADE when you get to your hunting spot. Don’t let your truck bed bake in the sun all day.

4️⃣ KEEP IT DRY! Avoid soaking the cape or velvet. Heat + moisture can cause problems fast.

5️⃣ HANDLE THE VELVET CAREFULLY! Don’t rub, squeeze, drag, or put unnecessary pressure on the velvet.

These tips should be used anytime you harvest a deer but it’s especially important in high temperatures. Give us a call with any questions you may have.

Ok folks, the time is upon us. The Tennessee Velvet hunt is this weekend!

We will be taking in a limited number of velvet deer. However!

We want you all to keep in mind that the care taken in the field will have a MAJOR roll in the overall quality of your finished mount! Time is not on your side with temperatures in the 90s!

Please get your deer recovered, cooled down and to us as soon as possible after the harvest!

DO NOT spray your harvest with water! You want to keep them as dry as possible.

There is a $25 fee added to our standard prices for the preservation of the velvet. For instance, our standard shoulder mount price is $725. Making it $750 for a velvet deer!

Give us a call as soon as possible once you harvest your deer and we will do our best to accommodate your drop off and get you taken care of! We will be offering free caping of your deer at drop off if we are mounting it!
