I recently had a discussion about "dragging my family through the work of my business." My husband and parents have frequently helped me set up for shoots, my children are frequent models, and have also been at a few shoots playing in the background, all to be rushed home and quickly put to bed too late before school the next morning.

Going through this discussion, I thought of this picture of Madison. We were at the beach, and I was playing with a different lens and trying to work on my beach photos, and Madison had woken up out of a nap on the beach and was ready to leave. But I asked her if she could quickly model for me, because I loved the colors of the sunset with her towel, and I could see it all over her face that she didn't feel like it. However, she picked herself up, and gave me all she could. And at the end, she asked me "mommy, did that help you with your photography?"

How many small businesses out there do it all alone? I'm sure there are definitely some. But I'm also sure there are more out there that had an entire squad behind them, helping them, being dragged through it all, and sacrificing time, money, and energy to help. I don't do this alone. And you better believe that I won't celebrate alone either.
