🤩Speaker Spotlight🤩
Originally from Bulgaria, Rossi Getskova brings both professional and first-hand perspective to discussions about the international talent pool. She came to the United States in the early 2000s and earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Charleston, with a concentration in business and finance, in 2004.
During her time as an international student at the University of Charleston, Rossi interned and received mentorship from John Ranson of Raymond James and Jason Thompson of Morgan Stanley, both University of Charleston alumni who have long supported student mentorship and professional development. Navigating the academic, visa, and employment complexities faced by many international students, Rossi credits the University of Charleston community with playing a meaningful role in her ability to succeed during that transition period.
Following graduation, Rossi joined United Wealth & Investment Management, where she initially served as Head of Equity Research before advancing to Senior Portfolio Manager. She works with both institutional and individual clients to develop and implement tailored investment strategies and currently leads the firm’s International Equity Strategy Team. Over her more than two decades in the industry, Rossi has held multiple leadership roles and brings a global lens to portfolio construction and risk management. She holds the Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses.
Rossi serves as Chair of the Investment Committee for the West Virginia Bankers Association and is a member of the Board of Directors for the West Virginia Independent Colleges & Universities. She also serves on the University of Charleston Financial Planning Advisory Committee, maintaining a strong connection to the institution that supported her early professional journey. In addition, she is Investment Committee Chair for the YWCA and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Ballet.
