4000 gallons of product and 5 miles, both sides of the road and this projects round 1 is complete. Thank you Army Corp of Engineers.

Picture is a picture of before and after. (Roughly just a few days after being sprayed).

Very interesting project and we enjoyed it. What a beautiful location.

As West Virginians keep battling through all this rain and storms, power outages, floods etc. We continue to pray for everyone involved.

On a side note, we had a long time customers regional management reach out and stated if we didnt spray in the rain they were looking for someone else. Yes, they said in the rain.

The local management has always understood and we have been in direct contact updating them. We always emphasize from the beginning that we do not spray in rain and will not if there is expected heavy rain fall. There is very important reasons why. Keep in mind this is a 450 gallon site.

Reasons:

1-we aren't allowed to, per state department of agriculture guidelines. We can be fined and lose our license. The site owners could also be liable.

2-the product wouldn't have time to get into the plant and become rain fast, it would just wash off.

3-leeching off target, getting in drains and leading to other places causing damage. Which we would be responsible for until the product ran full cycle (average time 1 year). As well as any clean up, testing and repairs.

4-we wouldn't be practicing application best practices and environment stewardship.

5-will have no effect and will have to be sprayed again, putting more product on site.

We at Harmon Vegetation Management LLC take pride in what we do and how we apply our products.

When you hire professionals in their field you are hiring those individuals years of knowledge, experience and education of what they do as a profession. We accept the liabilty for you, so we have to spray according to the laws and licenses requirements.

I stressed this to this regional management and they still insisted on being sprayed in the rain. They stated if we didn't spray it they would find someone who will.

Unfortunately, I advised them, it would be best if they did find someone else, that we do not operate that way. It was a big customer with two large sites, but thats ok because money doesn't out weigh doing whats right.

To the local management, thank you for always being great to work with and we enjoyed taking care of your sites.

Be safe everyone.

This is awesome when you are working in a rural area and not to mention when a TMobile Nationwide outage took place. My cell wasnt doing anything. Could have been bad, but thanks to Starlink mini on the truck I still have a way to communicate, in an emergency, if needed.

Highly recommend.

Still in rural southern West Virginia and its storming here today, but hopefully back at it tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day.

Interesting project for the Army Corp of Engineers, 5 miles along the New River. Both sides of the road are being sprayed, with aquatic safe herbicide. Going to be roughly a 3-4 day job. Ive been trying to get to them, as ive been running around like crazy. But of course today didnt go without its issues πŸ˜’. Hose blew apart and made me look like a smurf. Lol. A pump also decided it was time it wanted a rest. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ If life didnt give us challenges, we'd never learn. But back at it tomorrow. Have a wonderful week.

BEWARE !!!

If you do any federal contract work, thats through SAM.gov. Be cautious of the 100s of so called Brokers. They tend to list their companies as LLCs and subcontract work out once they win the bids. However, several have been calling an emailing me lately because there are several very large contracts that are open in our state and even Virginia. One part of the contract for one of them they need a state licensed commercial applicator to spray for them. This kinda puts a block on most of them and great leverage for me lol. These broker companies arent new to me but lately ive gotten alot of them and always back to back. I always check them out and also to see if there is an open active contract out for bid. Here's what I believe is my theory. I believe these broker companies not all of them but some, use one based company with several different named LLCs under them. They use different people listed as managers etc. Different company names. They have all those LLCs bid different prices so in the end they get the contract. Its like playing the lottery the more tickets you buy the more chances you have. The chances of some random company low bidding them is very small. So they win the contract the subcontractor goes does the work and waits to be paid 60 days later and the LLC has closed up and went out of business. He doesnt get paid the broker company gets full payment of the contract. I wonder how many subcontractors have been burned by them. So I decided to reach out to one of the federal agencies that has a bid out and mention to them my theory and they said SAM.gov site and people would catch it. Hummm ok lol. So I decided to test one of the brokers. I gave them a quote a really extreme quote with 50% down as deposit once the contract is awarded and before the work is to begin. Interesting enough one said he couldn't do the deposit until they were paid by the contracts completion.

Please forward this to anyone you know that does Federal Contract Bids so they are aware.

USE THE DEPOSIT METHOD on them if they are legit they will pay the deposit make sure the amount is a profitable, not just covering youre materials etc. and any remaining amount is all profit, in case they run. If they say they can't do the deposit then tell them good luck.

Had a little friend hanging out with me while I spread straw. After a bit he called in a few of his friends too.

So neat that there was a honey bee hive probably several 1000 ft away and they decided to come over and pay me a visit.
