We Brunch wasn't built off popularity.
Honestly? When I started this, I didn't know many people in Charleston. No clique. Not many connections. No social media following. Just a vision and the deep belief that there were women out there who deserved a room that actually wanted them in it.

The need was real. So I built it. For me and for you. And then something I didn't even plan for started happening.

Women showed up and found each other.
Collaborations were formed at that table. Friendships that are still standing today. Business deals brokered over brunch plates. Women who came alone and left with a business partner. Women who came nervous and left with a stage. Women who came not knowing anyone and left with a sister.

Some seasoned seakers and some who had never been given a platform found one here. Women who didn't feel welcome in other rooms, felt it here. Women who had something to say finally had somewhere to say it.

But here's what I need you to know...
You are the invitation!

Not the room. Not the roster. Not who's coming. You.

What I know for sure is, community cannot be transactional. You cannot walk into neighborhoods during a crisis, ask people to trust you, and expect relationships to magically appear. I learned this early in my career.

Which is why when I had the idea of We Brunch 10 years ago, I knew that I had to be intentional about everything, including the physical space. It started small as a gathering of women around good food, conversation, connection, and shared experiences, but it morphed into something bigger because women could feel the intention behind it.

It wasn't perfect. I didn't have a budget. It wasn't profitable, but I said yes to the mission. Building this community taught me a lot and it is proof that people underestimate “building community.”

If you have built community, you know it is
less about participant growth and more about consistency. Less about visibility and more about credibility. Less about talking and more about listening.

The strongest communities are built by people willing to create tables before they benefit from sitting at them.

And because of those lessons, here we are.

10 years ago, I needed something that didn't exist yet.

A room full of women who got it. A safe space to connect intentionally, not just exchange business cards and go home.

So I built it and it was Magic. Every single time. 🥂

From Charleston to Columbia to Greenville, we showed up. We poured in. We chose ourselves.

She Said Yes, and we're not just talking about weddings.

Yes to healing.
Yes to growth.
Yes to starting over.
Yes to love.
Yes to becoming her.

Because the most important yes has always been the one you give yourself.

We’ve been quiet. Longer than we intended. Life happened. And honestly, the last few years asked a lot of all us.

But WE Brunch never really left. We were just waiting for the right time. Ten years in, we’re not trying to pick up where we left off, that isn’t the goal.

We’re coming back with a different awareness of what we need, what we don’t, and what this space is really for.

I’ve always found joy in bringing people together, whether it was WE Brunch, Herkanda Forever, Queens Convene, or any of the other moments we made magic happen. I love fostering real connection, thoughtful collaboration, and partnerships that pour back into each other.

If you’ve ever come to me for advice, I probably helped—or at least meant to (blame the brain fog, not the heart!).

Truth is, while I can show up and shine when needed, I’m often recharging in my introvert bubble, especially when life is lifing. My health is non-negotiable, and protecting my peace is how I stay grounded.

But here’s what I do know: I’m so ready to host live events again. And when I do, just know—it’s going to be worth the wait.
