Utilizing an original VW Bus, she was carefully designed and constructed atop three aluminum amas. The fun doesn't end there- the design includes working "headlights" and "taillights", while the originial steering wheel serves as the helm.

Fan-favorite Alice Cup, a 2-part race to Sea Island Yacht Club and back the next day, is upon us! This weekend marks the 2026 installment of one of our very favorite local offshore races.

The Skipper’s Meeting will take place Friday in the Charleston Yacht Club Flag Room at 6 pm. Join us for a briefing from CORA’s Rear Commodore and detailed forecasting from Shea Gibson - Meteorologist!

A big congratulations to our friend and fellow J/7 sailor, Alison Brainard Hall, on embarking on an exciting new adventure with her J/7, “Superstar”!

Commissioned and launched just before Labor Day, Ali sailed “Superstar” to victory in her very first regatta just one week later, sharing the podium with fellow J/7 “Wings of the Wind.”

Ali and Superstar are a welcome addition to J/7 Fleet 1 here in Charleston, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this exciting new program!

On this day in 1968, French sailor Bernard Moitessier left Plymouth to start the 1968 Sunday Times Golden Globe Race. He sailed aboard the 39ft steel ketch, Joshua and famously abandoned the race "to save his soul", and continued sailing, eventually making landfall in Tahiti on 21 June 1969.

Rally the crew and join us for two beautiful evenings on the water! With 18 boats registered thus far, our inaugural Full Moon Regatta is shaping up to be a great event.
