Bet your realtor didn’t tell you about this fun time we are about to experience for the next few weeks. 🫣🤪
And don’t worry, y’all, because as soon as swarm season is over, hurricane season will start. There might even be some overlap…who knows?
Welcome to Charleston. 😵‍💫😅

Formosan termites will likely start swarming soon as the weather continues to warm up and the humidity rises. It’s that time of year!
So let’s review and get ready, shall we?

🗣Here’s what you need to do:

🔥NO NEED TO BURN THE HOUSE DOWN WHEN YOU SEE THEM INSIDE. JUST TURN OFF YOUR EXTERIOR PORCH LIGHTS AND SPOT LIGHTS! This will help deter them, since they swarm to lights. If you see a few here and there in your house, IT’S OKAY.

💥If you see 100 or more congregated in one area of your house, call us. They are small and tan in color. Some will have wings, and some will have dropped their wings already when you see them.

🙅‍♀️They have a head and a straight body. There is no middle segment like an ant has.

💦Make sure your home is free of leaks (plumbing and roof) and free of rotten wood (eaves, windows, door jambs, porch columns and railings, etc.).
