Snuggle up with a cup of coffee, y'all. Today on the blog (link in bio), I'm sharing one that's near and dear to my heart. These photos are of my lovely friends Matty and Kendra, who are hoping to adopt a baby. ⠀⠀
We did an intimate home shoot to launch their adoption journey last year, and we just did another set of photos before Thanksgiving. Sharing their story is a pleasure and an honor, and it's one of the most helpful things we (their friends) can do as they continue to look forward to being chosen and welcoming home the luckiest baby in the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you or someone you know are interested in connecting with Matty and Kendra as potential adoptive parents, please reach out at 843-564-5018 .adopt⠀⠀

One of the silver linings from this year has been reconnecting with so many of my brides from eons ago - and I’d tell you how long ago I shot Tracy and Frank’s wedding, but I’d be showing my age. 🤫 It’s always so fun to see where everyone is now, because in my mind they’re frozen in time on their wedding day! But update: since I last saw them, Tracy and Frank made two beautiful and sweet humans. 💕 Grateful for clients who kept my number after all these years!

SOAP IS ALL THE RAGE these days, am I right?! Raise your hand if you've already washed it at least 10 times today! I'm so excited to show you the brand new website I built for local and veteran-owned goat milk soap company ! Michelle, the maker behind all things Gritty Goat, pulled me out of the worst of my funk when she hired me to do some website work and writing for her (my parents made me get a second major in English Lit at Notre Dame along with my photo BFA, and I'm pretty grateful for that these days). I really, really miss shooting right now, and it was absolutely a godsend to work for and focus on another small business. I'm pretty thrilled with the results! If you support me, if you've been one of my clients, if you just are running low on soap, GO SUPPORT GRITTY GOAT FARM! Lord knows we aren't giving up washing our hands anytime soon, so stock up, send some to a friend, make it a Mother's Day present. The Gritty Goat will ship right to your door. No social distancing required! Here's to small businesses supporting each other through these crazy times. Shopping local is everything right now.

It's been a weird couple weeks, am I right? But I'm beyond thrilled to be back working as part of the team during this tumultuous time. No, I'm not shooting right now. (Yes, I miss it.) As a non-essential business, it is my duty to keep my rear end and lens at home. I am, however, back to blogging! So I really hope you'll head over to the blog for "From Grit to Pearl: 10 Reasons to Smile Around the Lowcountry Today"! Link in bio. We could all use a reason to smile right now but I hope with all my heart that you will support the small businesses that are helping support me during this time. I'm working with a couple other local businesses as they scramble to adapt to this new digital and online-only world, keep an eye out for more to come soon! Y'all, I've never been so excited to work in my entire life. 😅

Jenna & Jon had the sweetest and most loving of ceremonies under a giant live oak at Old Wide Awake. Seriously, there wasn't a dry eye in the place by the end! And their officiant was the lovely - who is actually going to be my wedding officiant as well! 💕⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sweet baby snuggles for the win!! I photographed Ashleigh’s wedding, maternity photos, baby Andrew’s newborn photos, and it was a delight to photograph his one year portraits in their brand new home. What a lovely journey it’s been, I’m so happy for this sweet family!
