We are saddened to announce the passing of our longtime owner, Martin Oehler. Martin was more than an owner of Charlotte Scale — he was the heart and soul behind over 50 years of dedicated service, innovation, and relationships that spanned decades.

Martin established Charlotte Scale with a vision and a commitment to quality that earned him not just customers, but lifelong friends. His legacy in the scale industry is marked by hard work, integrity, and the strong bonds he built with colleagues, clients, and the community alike.

Beyond his professional achievements, Martin was deeply involved in his community and known widely for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering support for those around him. Whether through charitable work, mentorship, or simply lending a helping hand, Martin’s impact extended far beyond business.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, employees, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Scale Technician located in Charlotte, NC. The Scale Technician will be responsible for conducting scale repairs, installations, calibrations, and rentals. Daily tasks include troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the proper functioning of scales and related equipment.

Qualifications

Scale repair, installation, and calibration skills
Technical troubleshooting abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Strong mechanical and electrical skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and on-site
Experience in the scale industry is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required
