Hey there, Fam - it's ya girl, JanetB, coming at you with my Wednesday WINsday!
So, yesterday, during a podcast interview, I was asked what one thing I do in my post-trauma practice that helps me. My response?
Reciting to myself - "It's okay."
I tell my circumstance - it's okay.
I tell myself - it's okay.
And,
I tell my Creator - it's okay.
We consistently encounter circumstances and challenges with difficult residual effects. When dealing with them, it's not easy to say, 'It's okay.' I promiseโI know.
In fact, my prayers still hold firm for those affected by Helene!
My definition of trauma has been "A sudden disruption you have no control over that causes devastating residual effects."
It won't 'feel' okay, but you can undoubtedly begin rebuilding your strength and resolve soon after the disruption.
Tell your circumstance - "It's okay."
Tell yourself - "It's okay."
And,
Tell your Creator - "It's okay."
Recite it until you believe it!
It will help you shift your focus from the circumstances you canNOT control to the opportunities you CAN control.
Then, watch and see yourself become stronger and more accepting of the healing process and your circumstances.
Powering Up Through Strength and Determination!
That's my PTSD and my WIN for you today!
I love you, Fam! JanetB
