I’ve gone back and forth about posting this because it wasn’t an easy decision.
For years, I’ve poured my heart into Patty’s Cakes and Cookies Too. I truly love being a small part of your weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, and all the other milestones that deserve celebrating. There is nothing better than knowing something I created helped make your day a little more special.
But over the last several months, I’ve realized something…
While I’m helping make your celebrations special, I’m missing too many of my own.
Most people only see the finished cake. What they don’t see are the hours spent answering emails, texts, Facebook messages, creating quotes, discussing ideas, ordering supplies, shopping, baking, decorating, delivering, cleaning up, and then doing it all over again. Sometimes there are hours of work before an order is ever even booked.
I love what I do, but somewhere along the way I forgot that life is happening outside of my kitchen. Too many weekends have come and gone. Too many family gatherings have been missed. And the truth is, I’ve been running at a pace that just isn’t sustainable anymore.
So, after a lot of thought, I’ve decided to significantly cut back on the number of orders I’ll be accepting.
This isn’t because I don’t love making cakes. I absolutely do. It’s because I want to love my business again without sacrificing my family, my health, and every weekend along the way.
Going forward, I’ll be focusing on fewer orders so I can give each one my full attention while also making room for the people and moments that matter most.
To every customer who’s trusted me over the years, thank you. Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know, and I hope you’ll understand why it’s time for this change.
