Some of my nonprofit executive mentees? Yeah… they’ve reached what I call PhD status—and I don’t mean the kind you hang on a wall. I mean earned, tested, battle-ready leadership in the field.

I’ve been mentoring Lakesha Green for over a decade, and let me just say this: she didn’t just grow—she evolved, expanded, and executed at a level that even made me stop and say, “Okay now… come on through!”

Listen… THIS is why I love what I do in Charlotte.

Nonprofit leaders are the true architects of community—and Ms. Shelia Laury, Founder of Fill My Cup, is building something powerful through her adult literacy program.

Seeing her step into her power and apply the marketing and communications strategies from our Bootcamp in real time is exactly the outcome we aim for.

CIGNA GRANT OPPORTUNITY

Our Commitment
The Cigna Group Foundation is committing $9 million over three years to improve the mental health of youth (ages five to 18) as it relates to post-pandemic stress and distress. This commitment includes support for their parents, caregivers, and youth service professionals like educators and therapists.

The Cigna Group Foundation grant program that supports nonprofits serving local youth experiencing the most need.

Robert F. Smith, the billionaire investor and philanthropist, believes in the future of generative AI and wants to foster learning of the technology at HBCUs.

Smith, who founded Vista Equity Partners, emphasized his focus on artificial technology in a fireside chat with Harold L. Martin Sr., Ph.D., chancellor emeritus of North Carolina A&T University.

In response to a question on how these technologies can yield systemic change while creating economic value, Smith explained how the implementation of generative AI has proven useful in companies under his portfolio.
