"Mom seemed fine when I visited"
It's something we hear from families all the time.
The reality is that many older adults can "pull it together" for a short visit while quietly struggling the rest of the week.
Maybe the medications are getting confusing. The refrigerator is nearly empty. Bills are piling up. Or perhaps they're feeling increasingly isolated and alone.
