In Memory of Dr. Keith Kramer
It is with a heavy heart that I remember my dear friend and longtime client, Dr. Keith Kramer.
Keith was more than a successful dentist. He was a good man, a loyal friend, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a meaningful part of the Traverse City community. He built and led a very successful dental practice serving Traverse City, Glen Arbor, and Empire, and he did so with the same warmth, integrity, and care that he brought to every part of his life.
I had the privilege of knowing Keith for many years, both professionally and personally. Some of my fondest memories with him were the simple, meaningful moments — early morning golf games, spending time together with his family and ours, being on the lake, and enjoying all the beauty and friendships that Traverse City had to offer. Those are the memories that stay with you.
Keith loved the outdoors, golf, University of Michigan football, his faith, and his community. He served as an usher at Immaculate Conception Church, was active with the Boy Scouts, supported GTACS, and gave his time in so many quiet but meaningful ways. His lifelong love of golf was a big part of who he was, from making a hole-in-one in college to serving as president of the Traverse City Country Club and later working at Mistwood Golf Course after retirement.
Most of all, Keith loved his family and friends. He brought warmth, laughter, loyalty, and friendship to the people around him. Whether he was spending time by the pool with an audiobook and Diet Coke, attending local sporting events, visiting with friends at the gym, gathering with neighbors, or enjoying time at “The Bump,” Keith had a way of making people feel welcome and connected.
Keith is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen; his children, Kristin, Matthew, and Khalid; his grandchildren, Sophya and Max; his siblings; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Virginia Kramer; his infant granddaughter, Charlotte Josephine Regal; and his brother-in-law, Jim Keller.
Keith was a dear friend, a respected doctor, and a man who left a lasting mark on those fortunate enough to know him. I will always be grateful for the memories, the friendship, and the time we shared.
He will be deeply missed.
