When you're in the room with the right people, you just know. There's a certain wave of calmness that comes over you, and assures you that it's right. It's almost like a tap on the shoulder saying “Hey…this is the thing you've been waiting for”.
A couple of days in the Lowcountry with the Clara Lionel Foundation felt like an entire week, because it was filled with so much truth and purpose. It was a connection of all the pieces that were missing. Our intimate gathering where some of us were meeting for the very first time felt more like a reunion, but the kind where you also sit back and have some crucial conversations.
But there was more than conversation happening. We all left with action items and plans for what comes next.
My heart, notebook, and inbox is FULL. When you're working beside women who are truly ready to roll up their sleeves and work, you really do wake up feeling a little different.
This intimate convening gave us room for honest conversation, with a shared commitment to turn what we discussed into action.
This story is ours to write. And it begins with everything we shared in that room.
