Last week 2 of our PWB members, Tara Whiteley and Amanda Mohl with Eastwood Homes had the opportunity to speak to the Professional Women in Building Council of the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville NC. The topic was "Lead with Confidence" where they discussed leading authentically, understanding different personality and communication styles, and navigating workplace conflict. Tara and Amanda shared real life experiences and tips they have learned in their careers that have helped them grow into who they are today!

To sum it up: find success by being the best version of the leader you already are.

Calling all skilled volunteers! PWB Girls Construction Camp is just a week away and we are looking for additional volunteers! Skilled volunteers are critical to the camp. They help the girls learn how to use the tools safely and correctly to build their project. So it’s important those volunteering have some handy DIY skills or carpentry experience.

If you’re able to donate your time and talents we’d love to have you join us at camp! Sign up a few teammates, wear your company shirt, and come spend a few hours helping young girls building skills and confidence.

Volunteer Orientations are scheduled via Zoom on July 15 & 16. We’ll review the project plans so you know what you’re helping build and answer any questions.

CAMP VOLUNTEER DATES:
Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday
July 21, 22, 23

What’s needed:
Day 1: Campers work on individual project – you’ll help them with building a planter box
Day 2: Group project – we’ve partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build bunkbeds for kids. The campers will need skilled volunteers to guide them through building the beds.
Day 3: Continue Group Project, finish building bunkbeds

LOCATION: The ROC – North Campus
This facility is located on the Northside Christian Academy campus at 333 Jeremiah Blvd, Charlotte.
