17 issues in!

Two weeks ago I boarded a cruise to Alaska and lost Wi-Fi and cell signal for almost the entire trip: no Wi-Fi, no LinkedIn, no AI.

I thought I'd feel disconnected. Instead, I was free to notice things I would have missed if I'd been composing a post about them instead of actually watching them happen.

Turns out this isn't new for me. I disconnected in Paris in 2010, and again in England in 2018. But I still had Wi-Fi on those trips.

What's different this time is I didn't plan to lose all service. It just happened.

My most memorable April Fool’s Day wasn’t a prank. It was my lost car. 🚗💨
Years ago in Chicago, I parked my brand-new car on the street. The next morning? Gone. And because it was April 1st, almost nobody believed me.
The car was never found, but I replaced it. Later, I actually won a car alarm contest by writing the entry from the replacement car’s point of view! 🏆
That experience taught me the foundation of my 29-year career in PR:
Giving something a voice is always worth the effort. Good work doesn’t just speak for itself. You have to make it visible, clear, and easy to believe.
