Try this the next time you eat at home: Serve your meal on a smaller plate than usual. When you use a big plate, it tricks your mind into thinking there's less food on it and makes you think it's OK to give yourself more. Using a smaller plate could prevent you from over-eating.

So, since there are invitations flying around for the Mecklenburg County Sestercentennial (to be celebrated on the lawn in February?), I thought I would learn more about what exactly a sestercentennial was (admit it, YOU didn't know it was a 250th anniversary, either)... there's some interesting info here!
