I quit my job and we took off…

9 years ago, it was just the two of us and we came to Aruba after I walked away from a 14-year career.

That trip wasn’t a celebration… for us it was a reset.

There was a roadmap…but certainly no certainty.
Just belief, some pressure, and a decision to bet on a new career path in real estate.

Fast forward 9 years later:
A lot of lessons.
A lot of ups and downs.
Plenty of moments that tested us.
And a whole lot to be proud of.

Last night, sitting at dinner right here…I shared that story with our kids.

And it hit me, this wasn’t just a spring break trip…this was a full circle moment.

Bringing them back to the place where we set sail towards a new & big adventure…

Before the lessons, before the wins, before the growth, before any of it made sense.

The biggest moves in life start with a plan and require a leap of faith.

If you’ve made that jump you’re on your way to a full circle moment…don’t stop it’s priceless when you get there!

😮The body of water extends beyond our furthest sight. It is full of life, mystery, and amazement.

⛴We are all a ship afloat operating at varying sizes, colors, shapes, capacities, and capabilities.

⚓️The one commonality; every ship has an anchor…some have multiple.

🗺These anchors can weigh us into place or can be pulled up allowing us to achieve a new destination.

🤗Should we decide not to sail we should know that we are likely in our safest place.

🤷🏻‍♂️Should we decide to sail we should know that we can’t control the wind, waves, or storms the sea can bring.

⛑Should we decide to sail we should know that it is best to be prepared with the right supplies and people aboard.

😁Should we decide to sail we should also know we are most likely to see, learn, and experience more than we could have ever imagined.

👍As we begin the new year, many have plans to pull those anchors up and achieve that new destination. Don’t let the winds of discomfort, waves of judgement, or storms of impatience stop your journey…I hope you arrive at that new destination📍

WOW...the very first video...3 years (and over 150 videos) ago! ⠀

I’ll never forget...I was only a few months into making a life and career decision many people thought I was crazy (rightfully so) for making. I was searching for a way to stay connected and to add value, but it couldn’t be forced or contrived...it had to be authentic. ⠀
⠀
I wanted to meet people and stay engaged through topics and conversations that have inspired me and if there was an opportunity to make an impact...do that! ⠀
⠀
So I started making weekly videos...no experience - not in my comfort zone - not tech savvy - a face for radio - a million questions - yes sometimes I still get nervous - not caring about the judgement from others (biggest thing!). ⠀
⠀
As I reflect on the messages and events over 3 years we’ve talked personally, professionally, socially, vulnerably, and steadfastly. A few videos with a tear, others silly, and all of them fun.⠀

For those that have been on this journey with me from the beginning to those that have joined at anytime since then...it’s never been about a hat always been about a mindset around these 3 things. ⠀
