Today, we honor Juneteenth.

A day that reminds us not only of the pain of the past, but of the power of perseverance, faith, and freedom.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free. What should have been immediate freedom was delayed, but hope endured.

Juneteenth is more than a date. It is a celebration of resilience. A recognition of those who endured, resisted, believed, and paved the way for future generations.

As we reflect on this important day, we honor the strength of our ancestors, celebrate the progress that has been made, and remain committed to building a future rooted in justice, opportunity, and unity.

Today we remember:
Not just the chains, but the breaking.
Not just the struggle, but the triumph.
Not just the history, but the legacy.

Today we celebrate the beauty of our culture, the strength of our people, and the pride that lives within every Haitian across the world. Haiti’s history is filled with resilience, brilliance, passion, and unity, and today we honor the legacy of those who came before us while inspiring future generations to continue building community and culture.

From the music to the language, the food to the traditions, Haiti continues to leave a powerful impact across the globe. We are proud of our roots, proud of our heritage, and proud to stand together as one community.
