On August 27, 2026, Daniel Hemming (Resource Planning Analyst), Wesley Johnson (Manager of Resource Planning), Scott Bosley (District Manager), Maryann Ackerman (Resource Planning and Biometrics Intern), Joshua Dean (Area Manager), and Nolan Farr (Forester) traveled to Warren, PA, for a field visit on a client property. The team reviewed Pennsylvania silviculture and forest models as they visited different sites throughout the stand. AFM uses a cross-department approach to land management, and our Resource Planning and Biometrics groups frequently collaborate with field foresters and other staff to provide the best data and boots-on-the-ground information for our clients as we can. Our team has grown again! Join us in welcoming our newest employees.

Kyle Dobbs is a Forester in Spokane, WA. He has a Bachelor of Science in forestry and restoration ecology from Evergreen State College. His background focuses on timber cruising, harvest layout, and compliance.

Nolan Farr joins us as a Forester in Warren, PA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management from SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outside with his wife and children.

Reagan Hendricks is a Forester in Paris, TX. She has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Louisiana Tech University. When she’s not working, she can be found outdoors exploring lakes and rivers with her mini Australian Shepherd.

Jared Pringle joins the team as a Forester in Folkston, GA. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife and a Master's in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia. His previous experience centers around REITs and Harvest Management.

Sebastian Gamez-Rocha is our new Central American Harvest Planning and Operations Analyst. He has two bachelor’s degrees: one in Forestry and the other in Environmental Science from Oregon State University. Sebastian recently relocated to our corporate office from the West Coast and is excited to start this new journey.

Chase Seymore is a former intern who is now a full-time Forester in South Hill, VA. He recently graduated from NC State University with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management. In his free time, Chase enjoys quilting, reading, and spending time with his cat.

Lastly, Riley Sims joins us as a Forest Technician in Prattville, AL. He recently graduated from Mississippi State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry with an emphasis in Environmental Conservation. In his spare time, Riley likes hunting and fishing.

We’re proud to have Chris Miller, ALC, RF, our Managing Director of Real Estate Services, presenting Thursday, September 3, at the Tennessee Forestry Association Annual Convention.

Chris will share insights on the history of land ownership in Tennessee, land market trends over the past decade, and the demand drivers shaping the state’s land markets. He’ll also offer perspective on how today’s new landowners are approaching land management and ownership.

We’re excited to have Chris representing our team at this event, and he’s looking forward to connecting with colleagues and fellow professionals in Nashville.

Don’t panic! Even though this guy resembles a venomous coral snake, it’s actually a harmless Louisiana milk snake. Andrew Boughton, Forester in Lufkin, TX, spotted this non-venomous subspecies of a king snake on a client property outside of Shepherd, TX, in San Jacinto County. While a coral snake and a Louisiana milk snake look similar, it might help to remember the old adage: red and yellow kill a fellow, red and black friend of Jack.

Willie Newman, District Manager in Lufkin, TX, and Andrew Boughton, Forester in Lufkin, TX, represented AFM at the Texas Forestry Association’s “Branching Out” landowner event in Lufkin on Friday, August 21, 2026. The half-day seminar covered several topics, including herbicide drift, rainwater conservation and wildlife, selecting harvesting, and more. AFM was honored to attend and connect with other industry professionals!

Brandon Bal, Region Manager in Houghton, MI, and Larry Heathman, District and Wood Flow Manager in Houghton, MI, check out a recently completed red pine thinning on an approximately 60-year-old stand in Northern Wisconsin. They discussed the timing of the thinning and how long to allow the remaining trees to grow before making any additional land management decisions, taking into account current and anticipated timber markets. Having a land manager on your side who has intimate knowledge of local timber markets is essential, and our team is ready to help!
