✨I’m excited to share that I’ll be speaking at the 2025 ASPIRE Economic Symposium, hosted by ASPIRE Community Capital in partnership with Charlotte Med Week!

📆Tuesday, October 7, 2025

📍The Casey by Beau Monde, Charlotte, NC

This year’s theme is "Resilience and Adaptation: Thriving in a Changing Economic Landscape."

In today’s economic climate, it is important that small and medium sized businesses adapt to the economic disruptions that may impact operations and revenue including the rise of AI, inflation, tariffs, labor shortages, the dismantling of DEI and so much more. I’ll be joining an amazing panel to share practical insights, strategies and approaches to position companies for continued growth and success. Thanks to generous sponsors and donors, the event is priced at the low rate of $49.

Happy Sunday everyone.

It’s 2025 and this year I chose to make declarations because it was more important that I set intentions.

Declaration #1 I will not let anyone dictate my happiness, joy, or the positive directions of my life. If people want to be miserable, unhappy, have a moment or decide that they don’t want to be here anymore, I can empathize, love them, and not let that affect my very existence. I have had one hell of a life. I have experienced things that people would dream of, traveled to foreign lands but have also experienced my share of trauma, disappointments, heartache and loss. And I still want to be here to enjoy and savor every moment of this life.

Declaration #2 I will not let anyone tell me how I feel or dismiss what I am saying. Far too many people have a tendency to tell me, “You really don’t feel like that” or “You don’t mean that.” I am clear about how I feel and what I mean. Please Stop It!!!

Declaration #3 I will not pour from a cup that is empty or half full. I will fill myself up and give people the overflow. Far too often I have given to others what I have not given to myself or what I have wanted but sacrificed. This has included loving me first, loving me enough, and then giving my time, talent and treasure to people who are selfish, self-absorbed and don’t even consider me. It won’t happen again. I have taken off the rose-colored glass. I see you and am clear. I am a Virgo in its truest form. I forgive but I don’t forget a damn thing!!!

Declaration #4 I will do my best to take care of this physical temple. Like many, I joined a gym. Since last week, I have gone to classes by myself. No more excuses about staying home because I don’t have anyone to go with, it’s too cold or I’m tired. I also started a health regimen prescribed by Dr. Lamar Price, a former physician. I have slimmed down simply because he asked me to eat clean for 20 days.

The most important thing this year is that I honor myself in everything that I do. I will say no and mean it. And I will say yes to the things that I want to and that I believe serves me and where I am headed. Look but don’t touch. Listen and learn.

Have an awesome Sunday.

Good afternoon everyone. Happy Thankful Thursday.
I wanted to take a moment to thank so many of you for your support in the launch of my new online course “Fast Track to Contracts™.” I appreciate the well wishes.

I wanted to specifically thank a few people who paid to attend the Live Beta Testing Session for the course in December. Your feedback was invaluable in ensuring that the information was concise, easy to understand and suggesting ways to improve the content. They were the following:
• Hope Rivers, Hope Writes and Co-owner of Moazen Jewelry
• Terrence Jones, 360 Umpires
• Pastor Jordan Boyd, Entel Consulting
• Will Campbell, Turf Commander Landscape Design
• Karen Johnson, Verge Innovation
Dorian Carter, Momentum Capital

Thank you to the following for purchasing the course and being the first of my supporters in the presales of the launch:
• Christine Edwards Pitkin, Amplify Consulting
• Carlos Gladden, 360 Degrees International
• Allan Austin
• Bernice Feaster, The Scholar Mom
• Rasheed Haneef, The Tutor Doctor and RjR Consulting Services
• Melody Williams, Fourth Generation Home Inspections
• Kenny Alexander, U Call, I Haul
• Dr. LaWanne Grant, Leadership DevelopMe
• Fabi Preslar, Spark Publications
• Bridget Taylor, Taylor Made Trucking
• Belinda Carr, Elite Homes of the Carolinas

Thank you to Nicole Johnson of Digital Made Simple for your guidance and support when helping to finalize the presentation slides, splicing the voiceovers and ensuring that my website became the Learning Management System instead of paying an outside agency. I hired a whole team and spent a lot of money on people who didn’t do what you have done. After a 4-year journey, you helped me take this course to the finish line finally!!!

Thank you to Duvale Murchison of Duvale Murchison Videography for doing the video recordings for the voiceover as a part of the online course and for your financial support in purchasing the course. I appreciate you more than you know.

Thank you to Alison Council of Brookshire Commissary and Flavors of Soul for providing the food on both days of the beta testing sessions. The food was delicious.

Thank you to my bestie, Gretchen Jolly, owner of Providence Resources, for attending both days and making sure that all sign-in documents were in place and folders were on the tables.

Finally, thank you to my sista from another mista, Dr. Shiricka Fair, Provisions Counseling Services, for showing up both days to support me.

Many people claim they are self-made. I AM clear that there are many people that showed up on my journey to help me in life and business. May the seeds that you all have sown into me come back to you magnified. For you, I AM grateful.

Have an awesome day.

Good afternoon and Happy 1st Tuesday of 2025.

There are some clients that come into your life that become friends and supporters. Jarvis Simpson, owner of McNichols Auto Group DBA Rescue Tow Truck, is one of those clients.

Last year, there were 2 occasions where I needed roadside assistance. Jarvis put his superman cape on and handled it. First, we needed a battery replaced for my daughter’s car. My daughter’s car stopped right before she crossed the railroad track by my home. It would not accelerate. He sent one of his employees out to take a look, had him to put a new battery in the car so that t accelerated just enough for us to park the car. The news got worse – she needed an alternator. I had already spent too much money that month for other investments that were the equivalent of college tuition. And I stated that to Jarvis. He came and towed my daughter’s car to a mechanic that he uses in the area. I offered to pay, and he wouldn’t take payment for the tow or for the battery. The mechanic fixed my daughter’s car that same day. When I went to pay, the mechanic said I didn’t owe anything. The bill had already been paid.

Fast forward to December and my car decided that it did not want to start. I chalked it up to it being a little cold outside but nope, it was the battery. I called the dealership and they wanted me to pay $700 for a battery plus labor. At this point, I am thinking that I will just have to suck it up and take a chance because ain’t no way I am paying that much to replace a battery. When I called Jarvis, he stated that he didn’t carry that size battery. So, I called Auto Zone. They had the battery for $260. I go to AutoZone where they will usually install the battery but nope. None of the AutoZone employees knew how to remove the old battery to install the new one. Uggghhhh. So, I called Jarvis again. He sent his employee to remove the battery and install the new one. And again, he did not want me to pay.

Finally, Jarvis stated that he was planning to attend a training in Las Vegas and asked me if I wanted to go. I said “sure.” So, I assumed he would pay for the training, while I planned to pay for my hotel room and plane ticket. Nope he covered everything. As a woman, I started getting nervous. Ummmm is he just being nice or is this a setup? Nope. He was just being nice. I realized at that point that he was my mirror. He was someone that showed up to show me who I am to others and to offer that same kindness without expecting anything in return.

Jarvis, thank you for your kindness. You know your credit is good with me. And since I always know where the money is, please expect your kindness to be returned to you times 10!!!! For you, I AM grateful.

If you are in need of roadside assistance, go to: http://www.rescuetowtruck.com/ or call 704-246-3655.

Have an awesome Tuesday.

P.S. Please do not call him asking him to give you the hookup because of his kindness towards me. Cause some of ya'll... 😤
